University of Trento

The University of Trento (UniTN) is responsible for the overall project management and to integrate the various data sources from Italy. Furthermore, it will be responsible for developing a common theoretical/conceptual framework of the project on inequality of opportunity and poverty in educational outcomes. It is also in charge of developing standardized estimation techniques for statistics on the inequality of opportunity based on Machine Learning tools.

Title

ifo Institute Munich

The Leibniz Institute for Economic Research at the University of Munich (ifo) is responsible for connecting different data sources from Germany. In collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), it will furthermore have the responsibility of collecting satellite data and to develop standardized methodological procedures that allow the use of satellite images for the analysis of socio-economic inequalities in the different countries.

Title

Universidad Privada Boliviana

Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB) will work on the integration of different data sources such as household surveys, census data, health surveys and less conventional data sources such as fuel and electricity consumption data in Bolivia. It will also be responsible for reviewing the theoretical and methodological literature on inequality of opportunity and poverty in health.

Institute for Human Development

Institute for Human Development

The Institute for Human Development (IHD) will work on connecting different data sources from India. Furthermore, the Indian team is in charge of developing a comprehensive conceptual framework on inequality of opportunity and poverty in income and to build a suitable set of indicators to measure economic deprivation and poverty. The envisioned expansion of our project to Bangladesh will be spearheaded by the team from IHD.
